Domestic Pop Deux

“The second bumper compilation package to emerge from the solid LoAF stable, ‘Domestic Pop Deux’ is a mission statement of sorts, sweeping up all sorts of fizzy electronic pop candies for our enjoyment. And enjoyable it is; from the sleazy electro pop of Nazca Lines’ ‘Base64 Love’ to the distant, woozy pop of Grimes’ ‘Devon’.

It’s a mixed bag of styles and sounds (this is LoAF, I shouldn’t be surprised), but the team has done a cracking job of keeping everyone in check, and somehow through sixteen tracks of haphazard, hyperactive electronic pop there’s a thread of coherence. And bear in mind that I’m saying this with the knowledge that there’s a band called COOLRUNNINGS on here.

I can’t think of a better way to get acquainted with the label than this, and to be quite honest it’s worth the asking price for that Grimes track alone…” Boomkat
