Leck was recorded between 2020 and 2021 using modular and software synths, a Korg Minilogue, and a UDO Super 6 synthesizer.

“Most of the tracks were almost forgotten about until late 2022, when I stumbled across project folders that I had luckily transferred from my old – now dead – laptop. To hear them objectively was like hearing somebody else’s music for the first time; and it was music that I really liked. I quickly realised I was listening to an album, even down to the order in which I heard them. I cleaned them up, changed a few bits and balanced them into the final versions, but in essence they are pretty much how I found them.”

“The albums that I remember listening to a lot during the writing period were Mort Garson’s Plantasia; Kate NV’s для FOR; Jon Hassell’s Vernal Equinox; Visible Cloaks’ Reassemblage; and Dominique Domont’s People on Sunday. What I like most about these records is the way they invite you into a world, as if each track is a place, animal, or character from that world. I felt a similar energy to Leck, and hope others feel it too.”

The new album features eight new tracks including the lead single ‘Birthdays At Midnight’ that sounds fresh and futuristic but has echoes of classic ambient masters like Harold Budd, John Hassell and Mort Garson and a nod to 90’s acts like Spacetime Continuum and Global Communications.
