Motohiro Nakashima

I Dreamt Constellation Sang

Motohiro Nakashima has come of age since his debut, “And I Went to Sleep” (Lo Recordings). This time around using a variety of acoustic instruments, voice, field recordings and electronic sounds that only can be described as warm and comfortable, he creates a lush sound world of delicate textures and intense peaks (the epic “Looking for my constellation” is a case in point). The whole album is laced with Motohiro’s sensitive guitar melodies which like the album as a whole can only be described as pure. If you wish for a place to shelter in these increasingly turbulent times this might be the place.

“When I was a kid I used to like go up the roof of my parents’ house late at night and look at stars. Those nights were usually spent with my walkman playing cassettes. I spent a lot of hours doing that and got to hear some great records. For me, “I Dreamt Constellation Sang” recreates that feeling.”
