Daylight Music Presents ITS BEEN HELL: 20 Years of Lo Recordings (London)

Shoreditch’s Lo Recordings label is celebrating its 20th birthday with a special showcase at Daylight. Renowned for quality esoteric music, Lo has previously released music by Thurston Moore, Four Tet and Aphex Twin. This week there’s a chance to hear Astronauts, the new project from Dan Carney (formerly of Dark Captain). Plus many accolades have been heaped upon Grasscut be sure to catch them playing music from their new album this week plus lastly we have new signing Lilith Ai.

Grasscut are Andrew Phillips and Marcus O’Dair. Phillips, who writes and produces all Grasscut music, is also known for his soundtrack work (HBO, BBC Films, Channel 4); he has been nominated for an Emmy and shortlisted for an Ivor Novello.

Astronauts is the solo project from Dan Carney who according to facebook create ‘ham-fisted bleep-folk neoliberal takedowns’.

Lilith Ai is a singer-songwriter, who performs poignant tales of modern city life. Her songs show urban life through a clear lens, that does not hesitate to reveal her dark life experience.
